George Carlin is one of my seminal comedic influences. I was doing his routines in front of my friends when I was in 6th grade—far too young to fully appreciate the depth of his humor.

Wayne used to play Dracula in a rock and roll stage show at Universal Studios Orlando.

Wayne Brady was my first improv teacher when I started taking classes at SAK Comedy Lab in Orlando. Eventually, I was lucky enough to play a few shows with him. He was part of a unique and amazing group of comedic improvisors that used to live in Florida and are now kicking butt in LA.

I saw Wayne Gretzky play once in Tampa against his brother Brent, who was playing for the Lightning at the time. The much-hyped matchup failed to generate much excitement, but it was a thrill just to see the Great One take the ice. I don’t think I’ve ever seen stickwork so deft.

Terry Gilliam has a sense of visual storytelling combined with a quirky sense of humor that makes for compelling movies. I want to get a little bit of that knowledge. (Also, I love Time Bandits, so I’d just like to thank him for the cool, fun movie experience.)
